I was away last week on vacation. In my spare time I decided to program a large language model artificial intelligence program. It seems like there is a new AI popping up everyday, so why not give it a shot myself? You know, like Perplexity, Elicit, Claude, not to mention old fashioned ChatGPT. So I cobbled together a few old hard drives and floppy disks, and connected these to the interwebs using a 56 kilobytes/second modem. I snapped a photo of the new AI system above. It’s called ExaminedGPT, and I’m going to demo it here for the first time today.
I decided to feed this new AI tool a very important first question. What are the most impactful, essential, consensus ways we can try to stay healthy while aiming to improve our health spans?
While today might coincidentally be April Fools’ Day, and perhaps ExaminedGPT is not quite fully built out just yet, I do think the answers it generated are quite impactful, essential, and gleaned from a wide consensus out there. Yet with all the noise and misinformation, they can seem hidden in plain sight:
Exercise to the best of your capacity, and try to stay active during the day, avoiding prolonged sedentary times. Work on good posture, and walks after dinner.
Eat real food, mostly plants and proteins, and less of it. Don’t bother trying to hack your metabolism.
Plan for, and try to execute, seven hours of sleep a night.
Stay engaged cognitively through lifelong learning, acquisition of new skills, finding purpose, and social connections. Create. Don’t bother with Prevagen and the like.
Invest in mental health through all of the above, plus breathing, meditation, nature, awe, fun, and gratitude.
Protect yourself against Covid, influenza, and the rest. Spend some time educating yourself so that you can collaborate with a doctor, and don’t say I didn’t warn you about that cat in the reading room.
And finally, have compassion for yourself and others, and accept that random bad stuff happens despite our best efforts and intentions.
I think this new tool worked fairly well for a little vacation tinkering. You can probably skip a lot of the longevity books out there now.
If you would like, please go ahead and leave a general health question, or query about life, or even a satirical prompt in the comments and I will run it through ExaminedGPT and then provide you with a true, expert, and potentially clever answer!
Due to slow processing and modem speeds, and a busy start to the work week, answers may be delayed by a day or two 🤖 !
Question for ExaminedGPT. Why no mention of music in the mental health section?
Brilliant tinkering and I appreciate the MacGyver AI contraption!
I would like to ask Examined GPT whether it/you concur with the CDC language that seniors >65 yo SHOULD get a Covid booster this Spring?
