MLK
Today, 2026.
Small, twinkling, ferocious lights that shine across a galaxy.
Miraculous life that reaches upwards, ever hopeful and purposeful, catching light from a blinding sun. Standing amid a star field of dreams in the night.
Martin Luther King Jr.’s life and legacy on Earth were defined by his fierce commitment to nonviolent resistance, his prophetic moral vision of racial justice and equality, and his extraordinary ability to mobilize and inspire people through powerful oratory.
He was a mighty oak in the American forest. Now a distant star whose light yet shines into eternity.
Let us today rededicate ourselves to resistance, morality, and mobilization… and see the potential for beauty in each and every short life we happen to share the universe with.
A potential for beauty and purpose in our own short life.
A bare tree. A night sky. An immense mountain.
Swayed today, across the ages, by some of the greatest words ever spoken:

Your words are poetry for us. Thank you.
His moving and powerful speech is also a chilling harbinger for events that affected his own life as well as those affecting ours today. Thank you for sharing this.
