The Irish have had their share of troubles. A part of my identity comes from the Irish cultural memory, and the Irish American experience. My great-great-grandfather died in an accident while working in the coal mines of central Pennsylvania. His son carried him out of the mine. There was pride in Kennedy, and a portrait of the Pope hung on the wall…
